Terms and Conditions |
Updated: August 1, 2015
These Terms and Conditions cover use of the Short Run Printing, Ltd Website ("our Website"). By accessing any page of our Website, you understand and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. The information that follows also covers the "Terms of Sale" for any printing requests by you, (our customer), that we, "Short Run Printing, Ltd" reproduce for you in printed form.
Privacy Policy and Credit Card Information:
No information we collect for order processing or from inquiries is shared with any other company or Website. Your information is only used to contact you in regards to your order or, on rare occasions, to provide you with pertinent news or special offers.
Credit Card information is only used to bill you for products and services ordered. Our secure, web based ordering system uses some of the latest secure server technology. Your order is submitted and retrieved with a secure connection to our server and remains secure at all times.
Copyright Policy:
We respect the intellectual property of others, and we ask our customers to do the same.
By using our Website, and/or sending us Content to be printed, you are representing that you have full rights to use the copy, design, and images in your piece, or pieces, without infringing the intellectual property rights of third parties. You also recognize that any and all subject matter does not have to bear a copyright notice in order to be protected by copyright law, so absence of such notice does not necessarily assure a right to reproduce. You further warrant that no copyright notice has been removed from any material used in preparing your Content for reproduction.
You agree to indemnify and hold Short Run Printing, Ltd, our subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, agents, business partners and/or employees harmless from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys' fees, made by any third party due to or arising out of Content you submit to us, or transmit through our Website for printing.
Print Quality Expectations and Quality Guarantee
Our commercial grade printing is adequate for most general business use. It is not "Critical Color" grade, and no re-runs are provided for minor color or density variations from the proofs or within a run.
All Price Quotes, whether custom created or derived from our written or online pricing media, are based on our receiving a useable ".pdf" file (or written pre-approval for similar file type) for printing content that will need no graphic design or corrections. Your requesting our services authorizes us to perform such work in the manner and on the terms set forth herein.
Short Run Printing, Ltd acknowledges that, on rare occasions, a file can become corrupt when being prepared for printing by a R.I.P. (Raster Image Processor). Pursuant to our Quality Guarantee (available at http://www.ShortRunPrintingLtd.com/Quality/), we will reprint your order or issue a refund if our printers introduce any errors that make your printing unacceptable.
Although we make every reasonable effort to complete jobs by the estimated ship date, delays due to equipment failure are outside of the control of Short Run Printing, Ltd and therefore not grounds for a refund/service credit. Please note: we have service contracts with the equipment manufacturers (or their authorized agents) and those contracts call for an average arrival time of 4 business hours from placement of service call. These service contracts allow us to deliver the high quality printing you have come to expect from Short Run Printing, Ltd.
Proof Approvals:
While we strive to deliver proofs in a timely manner, proof delivery dates are not guaranteed. Please understand that when a proof arrives, it needs to be promptly inspected thoroughly and carefully. Once a job is in a "Pending - Proof Approval" status, our system will NOT let it advance to Press. That means delays in getting proofs approved will result in a delayed arrival.
Short Run Printing, Ltd. is not liable for any variations between the printed output and the submitted file if the customer approved a PDF or Paper proof reflecting the change. At the time of Proof Approval, we record the Sign-Off (information submitted by user), Timestamp, and the IP Address used. This recorded information constitutes a legally binding digital signature, no different than if you had used a pen to physically sign your name.
Submitted Content:
You agree to not use our Website to send, upload, post or otherwise transmit any Content that violates any applicable federal or state laws. We do not control the Content posted by Customers and we do not guarantee the accuracy, integrity or quality of said Content.
You acknowledge that we shall have the right to refuse to print any Content that violates this agreement or may otherwise be deemed obscene or objectionable at our discretion. You further acknowledge that we may disclose Content if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that disclosure is necessary to comply with legal actions or claims, or to protect the rights, property, or personal safety of our business, our customers and the public.
When you, or someone on your behalf, orders a print item under your account, you grant us the license to access and store the digital files for use in processing print orders. You agree that we have no responsibility or liability for the deletion or failure to store any Content transmitted to our Site. We may also from time to time include customers' printed pieces as samples of our products on our Website or in our sample packet. You agree to grant us permission to display or mail samples of your piece(s) unless you specifically request otherwise via U.S. Mail. Requests should be directed to our mailing address:

Shipped Quantity:
As with most custom manufacturing industries, we do our best to ship the exact quantity you ordered. Due to the number of machines and steps each finished piece needs to be processed by, we do have some loss. We intentionally overrun each project to account for our expected loss in printing, bindery, and processing. Occasionally, we lose more pieces than expected and have to short the shipment. It is possible you will receive up to 5 pieces or 3% (whichever is greater) fewer than you ordered. Upon request, we will issue a refund for the difference between the shipped quantity and the actual ordered quantity in the event of a shortage (based on our shipping logs). In the event of extra finished copies at completion, we will provide them with the shipment at no additional charge.
Shipping Information:
The majority of our product is shipped via common carriers (FedEx, UPS). In some cases, we may use our discretion and divert shipments to Air or Ground Freight if we feel it will provide a more cost-effective or reliable service. In the event a shipment is diverted to Air or Ground Freight, we reserve the right to extend the delivery commitment by 90 minutes to arrange for the last mile delivery.
Service Failure Delays are delays within the shipping network that are eligible for a refund under the carriers Money Back Guarantee. In the event of a Service Failure delay, we will, upon request, refund the shipping charges to you.
Non Service Failure Delays (example: Weather Delays) are delays that are not covered by the carriers Money Back Guarantee because they are not in the direct control of the carrier. Unfortunately, we are unable to refund the shipping charges in the event of a "Non Service Failure" delay.
Short Run Printing, Ltd is not liable for U.S. Postal, UPS, FedEx, or other carrier Service errors, including loss or delay.
Liability:
In any event, our liability is limited to reprint of the original order quantity or refund of the purchase price of the order, excluding Shipping and Handling. We are not responsible for any damages or claims incurred by you or your business caused by receiving printed materials which are defective, incomplete, or which you receive later than the estimated delivery date.
